Travel Day 813 – Lisbon to Detmold, GERMANY
This was unfortunately already the last day of our little side trip from Barcelona to Lisbon and it started as a pretty foggy one…
As the day yesterday had been so great and we had walked around quite a bit, on this comparatively chilly morning we opted for the city tour on one of the nice historic trams. There were actually quite a few lines that still used those old yellow tram cars, but one line was supposed to be especially scenic and came recommended since it went through most of the little streets of the old town…

In the end we not only ate several pasteis, but we also ended up buying a whole box of it. We had actually decided that they were so amazing delicious that we simply had to carry them with us onto the airplane, onto the train and all the way back home…
And while the pasteis actually survived this long day and we somehow managed to carry the box home without completely smashing it, the Pastel de Nata did not taste quite the same at home as they did in the sunny outdoor cafes. Well, it seemed that it was necessary to go back to Portugal at some point and enjoy some more Pastel de Nata in the proper surrounding…
