Travel Day 943 – Amritapuri Ashram, Kerala, INDIA
Today was an interesting day, but it seemed that lately every single day was interesting for one reason or another…
In order to try something new, I got up early and joined the Tai Chi morning class. It was held in one of the gardens by the backwaters and it was luckily a complete beginner’s class. But I also felt quite lucky that the exercises seemed to be not too physical and were easy to follow until we hit the point where we started doing a whole continuation of fluid movements in slow motion and that was actually not nearly as easy as it looked like…
After the Tai Chi I had my voluntary canteen service, which I still really enjoyed and then I was off to watch a documentary about a rich guy from Beverly Hills who gave up his possessions to live a more simplistic but fulfilled life, Some Tabla practice on the roof while watching the evening sky by the sea and the Bhagavad Gita teachings in the temple concluded my day, with only one addition: I also had an astrology session in the afternoon with the head astrologist of the ashram…
I actually made the appointment already yesterday and I confirmed all the important details of my birthday with my mom. So today I was finally finding out more about my life and more about my destiny, as well as my karma. Plus I was promised that whatever would come up, the astrologist would help me to find the applicable remedy and treatment of each individual cause…
While overall the things the astrologist said were quite interesting and a lot of them quite true, the remedies on the other hand seemed rather strange. I was supposed to certain religious ceremonies, I was supposed to give certain things to certain types of people, I was supposed to bury things, to wear certain things and to do certain prayers…
All of that came without any explanation and during the session I was quite busy just jotting everything down. Once I was outside, I spend the rest of the evening simply trying to piece everything together and write it down again. It surely wasn’t an easy task and what remained where many question marks, but it was still a very interesting day and it gave me a lot to think about…
