Travel Day 945 to 949 – Amritapuri Ashram, Kerala, INDIA
After developing more of a routine feeling in the Ashram, my last couple of days just flew by in no time at all. But a few things that lay beyond my regular routine seemed still worth mentioning…
First I went to back to Amma to get my last Darshan before she would leave for her tour. While trying to obey what the Vedic Astroligist had told me, I bought a red sari and made it a gift for Amma. I had brought her already a little gift time when I went for my last Darshan, but this time with the sari, I felt I had even more purpose than before and as a result I was not only allowed to personally give the sari to Amma but I could actually place it around her neck… : )
While I had done this because of a recommendation from the Vedic Astrologist, I still didn’t really understand any of the meanings behind these requested actions. And so instead of continuously questioning everything, I rather went to a Western Astrologist to get a second opinion. As it turned out the western approach was completely different and focused on entirely different details than the Vedic one had been. And so I obviously didn’t get any answers to the questions that I had raised before, but I learned a whole lot of new things…
It actually was really interesting to have someone tell you certain properties that you should have according to the planet constellations and then thinking back and realizing that a lot of these things were actually true. So as it turned out, even the fact that I was travelling around a lot and that I felt at home pretty much everywhere I went, seemed to be something that was destined to be since the day I was born… : )
The last thing I was doing every single day was practicing Tabla. Sometimes I practiced early in the morning at the beach, sometimes I practiced in the evening on the roof and sometimes I practiced even in-between in my room. It really was something that I was enjoying more and more and I even had found some company by now…
A girl who liked singing decided to join me in my daily practice and while I was simply playing some parts of my kaidas, she was singing along in her local language. Unfortunately I have never really learned to accompany anyone with my Tabla yet, but so far it didn’t really matter and we both had fun just trying things out and making some new kind of music together…
Yeah, my days at the ashram were really nice so far and I still had not found any good reason to move on… : )
