Travel Day 958 to 962 – Varkala, Kerala, INDIA
Initially I wanted just a short Travel Daycation in Varkala, but this little tourist oasis, as I called it before, turned out to be more captivating than expected…
On my first day away from the ashram I felt just drained of all my energy and the only thing I could do was rest. After sleeping in, I walked down to the beach and relaxed in the sand. Then I had lunch in one of the tourist restaurants with wifi on the cliff, overlooking the beach and the sea. In the afternoon I managed to walk back to my guesthouse and practiced some Tabla until it was time for dinner. A nice meal in another of the tourist restaurants on the cliff then concluded my first Daycation day in Varkala…
Since the first day was so nice, the next couple of days all became quite alike and I developed a little Travel Daycation routine. Again, all the mornings I spent at the beach while swimming in the sea and reading my spiritual books from the ashram in the sun. In the afternoons I worked a bit on my website in one of the wifi tourist restaurants on the cliff and afterwards I practiced Tabla until it was more than time for dinner again…
This seemed to be the perfect routine for right now and all of a sudden one day after the other started passing by. Overall it seemed the longer I traveled the more I actually enjoyed to move around less and rather stay for a long time in a place that I really liked. The fact that I had the heavy Tabla with me also made me want to move as little as possible and it was only worth unpacking and tuning the Tabla anyway if I was staying somewhere for a longer period of time…
In this case I was staying somewhere where I not only could practice Tabla, but also work on my website, read my books and enjoy the beach. This really seemed to be the perfect Travel Daycation setting… : )
