Vegetarian Food of North India
North India is one of the best and most convenient places in the world to enjoy vegetarian cuisine. The food choices are plentiful, the dishes are amazingly delicious and literally all restaurants are either specialized on, or at least offer a whole range of vegetarian meals. So surviving as vegetarian in northern India is not only extremely easy, but also a very tasty experience.
The most typical meal of North India is the vegetarian thali which varies slightly by region. This dish of the day is not only freshly prepared, but it normally comes as all-you-can-eat arrangement where the little compartments are constantly filled up and rotis are added until one signals that the amount of food has been enough. Some classic Vegetarian Dishes
Paneer Butter Masala is a firm white cheese cooked in mildly spiced, rich tomato gravy and here it’s served with plain naan and sweet lassi.
Chana Masala, chickpeas cooked in spicy gravy, can be ordered as snack, side or main dish. Here it’s arranged with butter naan and plain lassi.
Palak Paneer consisting of chunky firm white cheese in creamy, thick gravy of pureed spinach is here served with rice and sweet lassi.
