Panorama of the Adriatic Sea by Rovinj in Croatia

Probably the most picturesque town of the entire Istrian Peninsula, Rovinj was easily spotted from along the coast. With its tall rising church tower in the center, this former island reminded of its 500 years of Venetian rule even from the distance. But not only the town, also the surrounding area with its bay of the Adriatic Sea turned out to be a spectacular sight, especially during sunset time when the calm waters were reflecting the warm evening light.
Having stopped by here by chance, it quickly became apparent that Rovinj was the star attraction of this Italian flavored part of Croatia. Not only was it possible to stay with the homemade campervan right by the sea, it was also easy enough to walk into town while following the foot path along the bay. After all, what could be better than finishing a long day on the road with this view of the town, the bay and even the historical schooner that anchored just in time for a great photo opportunity…
Do you enjoy visiting historical towns as well, especially when they are located in such beautiful scenery?
